Guidelines: Individually-Wrapped Bars, Cookies, and Brownies
During the pandemic, group and special event celebrations will look very different for the youth and agencies, and we ask for your support to adjust packaging as needed.
If you see requests for individually-wrapped bars, cookies, or brownies, follow these guidelines:
Place each bar, cookie, or brownie in its own food-safe packaging, per the instructions on the cake request, and then put all the individually-wrapped treats into a cake box for delivery
**Remember: individually-wrapped treats still need to be delivered in a cake box!
Individual wrapping you may use: cellophane bags, food-safe paper wrapping, paper treat bags, “glassine” food bags, or Ziploc bags. See examples and details below. Make sure the packaging is food-safe!
Make sure that treats are secured within their wrapping and won’t slip out. If needed, use tape, ribbon, string, or stickers to keep wrapping or bags closed
DO NOT use foil, plastic (Saran) wrap, or tissue paper
Individually-wrapped treats must still be decorated with the theme and requested celebratory message. See Decorating Ideas below!

DECORATING IDEAS &
WRITING CELEBRATORY MESSAGE
Edible image on cookies for theme: “Disney movie Coco.” These cookies can be easily put into individual bags!
Fake flowers attached to the top of each bag for theme: “Yellow sunflower.” The decoration doesn’t have to be on the treat itself since the entire bag will be handed to each recipient!
Decorating treats with theme “Baker’s choice of festive decorations” is as easy as colorful decorations on the wrapper itself!
Decorating treats with theme “Baker’s choice of festive decorations” is as easy as colorful sprinkles in the batter, plus a decorative wrapper!
To get the celebratory message on treats, use stickers that have the celebratory message written on them and stick that to the wrapper!
Another example of using stickers to get the celebratory message on festively wrapped treats!
Print the celebratory message on paper tags and tie them to the packaging.
Use an edible ink pen to write on royal icing or cookie icing! If you’re an expert at icing cookies, you could even write the message in icing.
Thank you!
We know that these guidelines are outside of our usual process and will require additional supplies -- if you are uncomfortable or unable to sign up for these requests for individually-wrapped treats, we completely understand and look forward to your cakes and cupcakes instead!
