Tell us a little bit about yourself!

I love trying all sorts of crafts and I am the one that will have seven projects going at one time.  I am an avid runner as well, with a goal to run 100 half marathons.  I also love doing escape rooms!

Why did you want to start Cake4Kids in your area?

I really wanted to use my skills to help the underserved kids in the area, but there wasn't another organization like Cake4Kids in Fresno at that time. It has been so much fun to meet the volunteers and see the amazing baked goods they create for the kids.  I love hearing about how the kids loved the cakes and how it made their birthday extra special.  This is such a great cause and I am so grateful we were able to bring it to the area.

What’s your favorite thing to bake?

I love baking anything revolving around carrot cake.  I have made carrot cake as a cake, carrot cake cookies, and carrot cake cupcakes.  I think it is delicious and I love that I am getting a little bit of veggies!

Tell us a little bit about yourself!

I enjoy traveling as much as I can. I truly appreciate having the privilege to experience new cultures, food and places around the world. My favorite places so far are Australia, Algarve Coast in Portugal, Iceland and Greece. I love to laugh - by enjoying time with friends and family. I love going out to good restaurants and trying new food. Listening to music is a huge part of my life and I love going to concerts. I am also obsessed with my English Bulldog, Diesel.

What or who inspired your love of baking?

My love for baking started as a child, as I’ve always had a sweet tooth and would consider myself a “dessert before dinner” type of person. My skills were really developed by a wonderful job opportunity I had in college to work at a local bakery, where I was given the chance to learn how to decorate and understand baking from a business perspective. One of my favorite things about baking cakes is that each request is unique which allows me to have creative freedom with both flavors and design. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing someone enjoy and appreciate a dessert I had the pleasure of making for them!

Why did you want to join Cake4Kids Fresno?

I wanted to join Cake4Kids Fresno after searching for local volunteer opportunities in my area. I was thoughtfully looking for something in the community my skill set would provide value for and I could do long term. I found Cake4Kids and really resonated with the Cake4Kids mission and community it served. I was really excited to be apart of an organization that is dedicated to putting a smile on children’s faces, while also being able to use this platform to consistently practice my baking skills. I enjoy the opportunities in life that challenge me to be better, and Cake4Kids is a wonderful organization to do that with!
