About
Stephanie Tennant, Cake4Kids Ambassador for Connecticut
In the summer you can find me at any beach on Cape Cod. The ocean is my happy place. My husband and I love to go on adventures to local New England restaurants and small towns. We will drive miles for a good donut any day! Walking with friends and yoga are a few ways I like to relax.
What or who inspired your love of baking?
Growing up we never went out to eat or bought dessert. There was a lot of time spent in the kitchen with my mom and aunts cooking, baking, and cleaning! My mom's specialty was pies and cakes, my aunts made the cookies. I baked with all three of them all the time and picked up a little from each of them that I have now turned into my own specialties.
What is your favorite thing to bake?
My favorite thing to bake is birthday cake! Being able to bake cake for kids is a dream come true. Everyone deserves a cake on their birthday. A birthday cake is so many things: it's a celebration of life, it's a tradition, it's symbolic, and it's delicious! Having a birthday cake feels good!
